Jimeta’s top 10 Most influential young persons of 2013

So obviously we are counting down to 2014 and getting ready to bid farewell to 2013, is it just me or was 2013 the fastest year ever. Any way back to the matter at hand. Yola, the capital city of Adamawa state “The sunshine state” has seen a lot of tremendous talent evolve this year  and my team and I though it necessary to generate this list of the city’s most influential persons of 2013. The list was created based on a list of criteria including the amount of stories, amount of page views, recorded activities etc. as reported by our bog and our sister blog (Hookup Tv which was hacked earlier in December). So here they are.

10. PWAKANGDI STACEY POWER (On line Administrator)
The introvert-ish daughter of erstwhile politician P.P. Power is definitely following her father’s footsteps and creating even bigger strides at a younger age. Stacey who is an on-line administrator to Adamawa Facebook group (ADFG) which happens to be one of the largest on-line forums for the Fombina state generated massive attention on-line when the story broke out that she was getting set to establish an online platform for all Federal Government College Unity College students in Nigeria. She has successfully launched the platform and has gotten positive responses and is doing great.

9. STANLEY INNOCENT (OAP, CEO, Youth Advocate)
On Air Personality Stanley Innocent generated a  lot of interesting 2013 as he rose from being a church boy to becoming one of the capital city’s golden boy. His syndicated radio show Campus 360 celebrated its first anniversary, he also launched his on-line magazine (Studio 87) was given the enviable slot of co-presenter on the Gotel Lunch Box (Yes he was the Radio Sniper).

8. NDAPANA SAMUEL (TV Personality)
The TV presenter of Gotel Lunch Box had a good year. She has interviewed more A-list celebrities than any other on air personality in the state. She got an upgrade to become the producer of her own show this year as well. After escaping the hands of death this year in a ghastly motor accident, she has a lot to be thankful for. Amongst the guests on her list include, Funkiest Malam, Rap Star Eva, Black Magic, Oxygen Dance Academy, PRYSE (of Chocolate City), Ace Comedian Bovi, Timaya as well as Jesee Jagz

7. BIG DELYMO OLADELE (Recording Artist)
Foremost gospel singer and folo folo crooner saw a great year in 2013 as he made massive impact with several concert performance and invitations from within and outside the state. BIgdelymo who performed in over 40 concerts this year (average of 3 concerts a month) definitely had his hands full. His record label signed on fast rising start ZINO, he also launched his debut video SHALEWA & KAMARU this year. If there is any justice in the world, he would have gotten a BET nomination (just saying)

Bone Breakers 

6. BONE BREAKERS (Dancers)
Well not a person obviously but a group that stands as one. Drake describes it better “started from the bottom no we’re here”. Obviously one of the most talked about dance groups within the Sunshine state known for the consistent use of props, high energy sound effects, death defying stunts and humorous artillery of dance routines, the bone breakers have evolved to become a family favourite. After establishing their presence at Hip Hop Sunday Season 5 edition the group made it clear that  levels don change. Ever since, the group has on most occasion been placed as the last to perform in order to keep the crowd at various events. This year was a fulfilling one as they launched a series of tour performances and created their first video which was submission to Gospel Icon SINACH.

5. MARTINO EL CASINO (Recording Artist)
The controversial rapper who stormed 2013 with his song that garnered massive appeal titled Yan nawau was on the front pages for several weeks. His stories always gathered a lot of acclaim including the brief rumor of his death, and his love child Marquos. Martino successfully premièred his début music video YAN NAWAWU following the success of the audio version; he was selected as the only entertainer from Adamawa state to perform at the Taraba Entertainment Industry Night Gala. The most recent word on the vine was his un-solicited beef with fast rising start Xsem over a social network photo upload. He kept the public eagerly awaiting the release of his mix tape album which is yet to be launched and its December 31st.

Bone Breakers: Dance audition begins in Jimeta

Young and aspiring dancers will have the opportunity to sharpen their skills at the Bone Breakers "Make the Team Dance Audition", and become honorary members of Adamawa’s première dance crew for life if they emerge winners at the Auditions.

Apart from this, the successful participants also stand a chance of earning the full privileges that comes with the team including membership id cards, concert tours, TV & radio interviews, music video recordings with the Bone breakers.


The initiative,  is being put together by the Bone breakers . Participants are expected to send a short message (SMS) consisting of their Name, Age and Location to 08167295953 to begin the process of registration,

the audition event would take place at the Jimeta central zoo whereby officials of the Bone Breakers would be in Jimeta for the wee- long evaluation which will be based on technical and tactical exercises for 7 days while the last day of the event would be loaded with different captivating programmes

All candidates that participated in the clinic will be awarded with bone breakers  certificate, while the lucky winners would get the honorary title of being members of the Ultimate dancer crew …the bone breakers.

Big Delymo signs male star ZINO to his record label

Contrary to reports making the rounds that Big Delymo’s record label Street Gospel Records is yet to sign any artist, I can tell you for free that it's not true. Shedrack Naphtali popularly known as ZINO is signed to Big Delymo’s own record label. This comes at a time when the Fast rising Dancer and rapper is gearing to launch his sophomore album after the success of his first album with the hit track OVERDOSE.

Gospel A-list artistes clamp down Jimeta concert

THE KING IS BORN concert hosted by Exousia ministries was the event that brought in some of the biggest names in the gospel industry of the sunshine state. The concert which lasted for 3 days and anticipated the arrival of foremost gospel hit award winner Jeremiah Gyang who failed to show up was in no way a dull concert as performance after performance, the bar was raised one step higher. PHOTOS: ADAMAWA STATE POLYTECHNIC COMPUTER LAB GUTTED BY FIRE

The Adamawa state polytechnic computer science lab was last week was gutted down by fire. Some sources claim it was caused by the burning of a nearby bush which later trickled down to the building while others claim it was a power surge when the PHCN restored power and it caused a spark which led to the fire. This comes just when the students of the institution were just concluding their end of session examinations and preparing for the yuletide season.

TEENAGE SINGERS GETS ENDORSEMENT DEAL AT NUMAN

His name is Singer Lucky and his name follows him. The young talented singer who was born and raised in the ancient city of Numan in Adamawa state just got the Christmas gift of a lifetime. Exousia ministries, the group that hosted the KING IS BORN CHRISTMAS CONCERT 2013 and led by Singer/song writer and broadcast journalist Martins Dickson was at Numan to hold the first leg of the concert at the Abundant Life Church auditorium.

Just moments after the young singer dropped the microphone after a beautiful rendition of the Christmas carol CROWN HIM, Martins took to the stage and called the boy back and pledged on behalf of Exousia Ministries to give a 50% payment on his album project. Martins also called ace producers‘s Emmanuel Afolabi (aka Dr. B) and God’s will Joseph (GWILLS) to the stage to also pledge their support of which they did.

The crowd went wild and the Young singer was short of words and full of smiles.

BISHOP PETER MAKANTO & WIFE RELEASE STUNNING XMAS PHOTOS

Bishop Peter Makanto, The presiding Bishop of the Upperroom Churches worldwide with its headquarters located in Jimeta Yola, and his wife recently had these stunning photographs.
The Upperrom churches was amongst the first indigenous Pentecostal churches to be established within the sunshine city and has hosted prominent bigwigs in the Christian faith including Late Arch. Bishop Benson Idahosa, Bishop Margaret Idahosa, Bishop Daniel Kankun (Jos), Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai. Rev. Nolan Mc. Cants (USA), Pastor Taribo West, Nigerian Idols 2^nd place Winner - Debbie Ebun Rise and a host of others.

These pictures come just a few days to the Yuletide celebration. I would say and looking rather young and outstanding especially after 3 lovely kids and over 18 years of marriage. Merry Christmas in advance I guess.

Red Carpet Photos from Hair style Guru (Chikasm)'s Album Launch @ Christ Embassy Yola

Sunday the 8th of December will go down as a night to remember as singers, song writers and producers thronged to Christ Embassy Yola, The venue for the debut album launch by Obi Quincy Alphonsus (aka CHIKASM). 

The hair style guru whose professional touch gained him wide acclaim was in no doubt put to use as the venue was filled to capacity with customers and well-wishers alike who were on hand to witness the historic event.

The album titled WHERE YOU ARE featured soulful tunes that received awesome reviews at the launch also featured a red carpet special. Here are the pictures for the event.

PHOTOS: DESTINY DISCOVERY emerge as 1st place winners of Jimeta reality show

Destiny Discovery Dance crew on Saturday stood out amongst several performing artistes in the gospel genre to take first place in the Premier edition of the Gospel Reality Contest.

The show which was organised by One Stage Gospel Promotions and hosted by Vincent Doko held the audience spell bound as each performance raised the bar an inch higher. The judges which included Foremost music producer Emmanuel Afolabi , gospel singers Stine P, Peter Tanas and a host of others scribbled scores and made comments with nods and head shakes here and there.

New life embassy which was the venue of the event was crowded to capacity and went agog when one by one the performing guests artistes took to the stage. including Obidah Zadok and Folo Folo leader Big Delymoh.  The first place winners walked away with a cash prize of Twenty Thousand Naira (hmm..nice way to start the Yuletide season). Paul Oxsi, a member of the winning crew was quick to go on line to express his feelings on the recent victory.

December Events: A King is Born Music Concert

Exoussa Music Ministry is geared to start the Festive season with the Music concert tagged " A  KING IS BORN". For all lovers of good gospel music, you better mark your calendars for the 20 - 22nd of December because its not going to be dull in any way, I mean what do you expect when you have Jeremiah Gyang, Ibi Dave, Stine P and Martins Dickson on the microphone and churning out tunes you will be humming all through the Yuletide season.

What makes it more fun is that Adamawa state residents will experience the concert at two venues simultaneously, that is First Numan and then Yola.

24 hours curfew declared in Maiduguri

Military authorities and the Borno State government, Monday slammed 24-hour curfew on Maiduguri following an attempt by Boko Haram sect to overrun the troubled state capital.A statement by the Secretary to the Borno State Government, Ambassador Baba Ahmed Jidda, stated: “The Borno State Government in consultation with the GOC 7 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Obidah Ethan, has decided to impose a 24-hour curfew on Maiduguri Metropolitan Council and environs starting from 11 am today Monday, 2nd December, 2013.

“The imposition of the curfew is necessitated by an attack in Maiduguri by people suspected to be Boko Haram members in the early hours of today.“During the period of the curfew, Borno State Government pleads with all citizens to remain calm and law abiding until the situation is brought under control as the security agencies will do everything possible to maintain lives and property of the citizenry.“Only vehicles on emergency call and essential services are allowed to move during the period. The curfew would be lifted as soon as the situation improves.”Insurgents, numbering over 200, attacked the Maiduguri Airport, the air force base, the trailer park and many other places in the western part of the state that lead to Maiduguri from Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.

The attack forced the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to shut down the Maiduguri International Airport and Arik Air to cancel its Abuja to Maiduguri morning flight Monday, just as several other roads leading into the city were closed.Giving further details on the attacks, the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, in a statement by its Public Relations Officer, Col. Muhammad Dole, said: “In the early hours of Monday, December 2, 2013, Boko Haram terrorists attempted to gain access to our locations in Maiduguri metropolis.
